Clearwall goes last on your master bus and keeps every peak under a ceiling you set from -12 to 0 dBTP. The ceiling is measured as true peak, so it covers the peaks that form between samples on playback. Three parts share the work: a clip shaves the sharp tips of drum hits, a fast stage turns each peak down just before it arrives, and a slow stage turns loud passages down smoothly. The bass gets its own, gentler clip, so the low end keeps its weight at loud levels. The style sets that balance. CLEAR is the most transparent, for masters around -14 to -10 LUFS. PUNCH, the default, clips the opening milliseconds of hits so drums keep their snap while held notes stay clean, for about -9 to -7 LUFS. DENSE moves more of the work into the clip for the loudest masters, around -6 to -5 LUFS. All three share one latency, so switching never shifts your timing. LEARN DRIVE listens to the section you loop, a few seconds at a time, and sets DRIVE once, as a single undo step; it never rides the gain. The meters read integrated, short-term and momentary loudness, true peak and loudness range, and the analyzer shows gain reduction hanging from the ceiling line like a curtain. CODEC listen plays your master after an AAC 256 kbps encode and decode on macOS, and a codec margin you can switch on holds the ceiling 1 dB lower while the master is louder than -14 LUFS. MASTER quality runs at a fixed 25.8 ms at 48 kHz, which your DAW compensates, and LIVE cuts that to 8.5 ms at the same rate for playing through the master bus. Dither, with optional noise shaping, handles the final export, and 15 presets by genre and loudness, from a -16 LUFS spoken-word preset and a -14 LUFS streaming master to a -5 LUFS EDM master, set the style, the character controls, the ceiling and a loudness target but never DRIVE, so loading one never makes your level jump. AU, VST3 and AAX on macOS; VST3 and AAX on Windows. Installs and updates through MuseHub, with no license key. Requires macOS 10.15 or later on Intel or macOS 11 or later on Apple silicon, or Windows 10 or later, 64-bit.

LEARN DRIVE sets DRIVE once to reach an integrated, short-term max or PLR loudness target
UNITY, DELTA and CODEC listening (CODEC on macOS), plus LUFS, true-peak and range meters
MASTER at 25.8 ms or LIVE at 8.5 ms at 48 kHz, with one latency shared by all three styles
Dither at 24 or 16 bit, 16-bit noise shaping, an opt-in codec margin and 15 genre presets

What’s new

  • While you listen to Delta or Codec, the display dims and says so, with a BACK TO NORMAL key to return. Closing Clearwall's window takes Delta and Codec back to Normal, and undo never switches the listen mode.
