SPECTRAL UNMASKING
ARMASK
A sidechain-driven spectral carving plugin that creates space between competing tracks by reducing only the frequency bands where they collide.
SPECTRAL UNMASKING
ARMASK creates space for one track inside another using precise sidechain-driven spectral carving. Route a vocal, lead, kick, or other priority signal into the sidechain, and ARMASK splits the main signal into more than a thousand bands, reducing only the areas where the two signals collide. Frequencies outside those collisions remain untouched. Two detection modes provide different approaches to carving. FOLLOW responds to the spectral shape of the sidechain relative to its own broadband average, so changing the sidechain level does not change the depth. MASK compares the two signals directly and applies reduction only where the sidechain rises above the main track. LOW CUT and HIGH CUT define the frequency range ARMask is allowed to process, while cut width and threshold are set directly in octaves and decibels. Three curves display the main track, sidechain, and removed content together for clear visual feedback. With DEPTH at zero, or when no sidechain is connected, the output is bit identical to the input.
