Multi-platinum engineer and mixer Kenny Gioia demonstrates how to take an existing lead vocal track and build a completely new production around it, guiding you through each stage of the workflow. The series begins with an introduction to remixing concepts and a listen to the original version of the song. Kenny outlines his approach and the tools used before diving into tempo adjustments, including time-stretching the lead vocal to match a new arrangement. From there, you’ll see how drum tracks are created using loops and percussion, followed by the addition of acoustic guitar and synthesized elements such as leads and pads. Once the core parts are established, Kenny focuses on arrangement techniques, shaping dynamics with peaks and valleys to create movement and excitement. The course concludes with adding effects, drum fills, white noise transitions, and completing the final mix of the remix production.
