gFractor is a multi-mode analyzer for producers, mixing engineers, and mastering engineers. Three displays — a configurable FFT spectrum (256–16384, overlap up to 16x, fractional-octave smoothing, target curves, audition filter), a reassigned-spectrogram waterfall, and a tempo-synced oscilloscope — all driven by the same Primary/Secondary abstraction across four channel modes: Mid/Side, Left/Right, Tonal/Transient, and Mono (L+R). Add goniometer, correlation, width-per-octave, and LUFS metering, plus sidechain A/B reference with ghost overlay and momentary compare. Full keyboard control, three themes, presets. Realtime-safe audio path, zero latency. VST3 (Win/macOS/Linux), AU (macOS), Standalone.

What gFractor offers

Multiple Analysis Modes: Mid/Side, Left/Right, Tonal/Transient, and L+R Mono Sum views
Spectrum & Loudness Analysis: FFT up to 16384 with fractional-octave smoothing, tilt, and LUFS metering
Stereo Visualization: Includes goniometer, correlation meter, and width-per-octave analysis
Oscilloscope View: Tempo-synced time-domain waveform with spectral coloring and CRT filter
Waterfall Spectrogram: Reassigned time-frequency view with freeze and 2k/4k/8k resolution
Custom Reference Lines: Up to six guidelines, each with its own slope from -12 to +12 dB/oct

What’s new

  • ## New
  • + LUFS / LU pills switch the loudness readouts between absolute LUFS and LU relative to a target
  • + Draggable TARGET badge sets the target in 0.5 LU steps; the bar marks it as a dashed line at 0 LU
  • + CREST readout: the plain peak-to-RMS ratio in dB, over the same 3 s window as the peak
  • + Reset On Play restarts the loudness measurement whenever the host transport rolls (off by default)
  • + The per-octave stereo chart now plots correlation per band, on an 8192-point FFT so 31.5 Hz resolves
  • + Scope dB cursor: a horizontal line follows the pointer, labelled in dB relative to the lane's zero line
  • + The sidechain draws in the scope as a ghost envelope beneath the main curves, so G works there too
  • + Export any view as a branded 2x PNG with E or the camera pill in the header
  • ## Changed
  • New Meters preferences tab between Display and System — target level, LUFS Min / Max, Reset On Play
  • Preference tabs are sized to their captions, and the panel is widened to 620 px so they fit on Windows
  • An empty octave band reads zero correlation instead of painting a confident bar off noise
  • ## Fixes
  • A target curve saved at one FFT size and reloaded at a smaller one read past the end of its data
  • The GHOST pill state survives a reopened editor; reference mode is dropped when the window closes
  • Switching channel mode restarts the ghost trace's Transient/Tonal envelopes
