Niviem Phase One is a free 6-stage phaser inspired by the 1971 PS-1A Phase Shifter. Built around a true six-stage all-pass cascade, it produces three sweeping notches for rich, complex phasing. It includes three authentic speed presets (Slow at 0.5 Hz, Medium at 1.0 Hz, Fast at 6.0 Hz) with Leslie-style ramping for smooth acceleration and deceleration, plus a continuous Rate knob in Modern Free (0.05–12 Hz) and Tempo Sync across 15 musical divisions including triplets and dotted figures. Stereo Spread widens the LFO image up to 180° while staying mono-compatible at zero, and a clean Output Gain trim of ±12 dB sits at the end of the path. Zero-latency processing throughout. Vintage Mode preserves the original behavior bit-identical to the PS-1A. Modern Mode keeps the same six-stage cascade but exposes Depth, Sync, Rate, Spread and parameter smoothing — without ever touching the Vintage signal path. The plugin ships with 30 factory presets across seven categories plus user save / delete / rename, A/B Compare in the header for instant snapshot switching, hover tooltips on every control with live value tracking, and Nivipedia — an in-plugin encyclopedia with 31 articles covering every control, mode, DSP concept and historical context. Right-click any control to reset to default or jump straight to its Nivipedia entry. The interface is styled after 1970s Lowrey organ controls for a period-accurate experience.

What’s new

  • Continuous RATE knob (Modern Free) — dial in any LFO rate from 0.05 Hz to 12 Hz; the three Speed rockers act as quick-presets that snap the knob to the authentic 0.5 / 1 / 6 Hz values
  • Stereo Spread knob — independent L/R LFO phase offset for a wide modern stereo image; mono compatible at 0 %
  • Tempo Sync — 15 musical divisions through a categorised picker, including triplets and dotted figures from 1/32 through 4/1
  • Output Gain trim ±12 dB — clean linear stage after the phaser path
  • 30 factory presets across 7 categories (Init, Subtle, Classic, Modern, Synced, Vintage, Creative), plus user save / delete / rename to disk
  • A/B Compare in the header — two full parameter snapshots, copy in either direction, instant toggle
  • Nivipedia — in-plugin encyclopedia with 31 articles covering every control, mode, DSP concept and historical context. Right-click any control for Reset to Default and What is this?
  • Hover tooltips on every parameter — name, current value, range; live update during drag
  • Double-click any knob for direct value entry — premium centred dialog with cream-LCD field and amber clamp flash
  • Premium chassis redesign — cream faceplate, FSH-1-style illuminated power, square-edge rack chrome, animated phase-shift visualiser
  • Vintage Mode signal path is bit-identical to v1.0 — every Modern feature is gated behind the Modern toggle and forced inert when Vintage is engaged
