Vienna Percussion

This soundfont is amazing. The only thing that threw me off was the fact that the toms did not have the power I anticpated, though based on both the free MuseSounds and this soundfont I believe it’s actually pretty accurate. Compared to the free MuseSounds, this is better in almost every way. The Snare is a lot more pop-y, the bass drum is much better, I have a huge variety with the Taikos and Toms, the Chimes sound much more bell like, and much more. I believe it was absolutely worth the money. Edit: Upon Playing with the sounds further, I have decided the Taikos are lacking the Power and volume of the free MuseSounds Taiko. What could I do to improve it?

This library has me shook with it's quality, especially on the tremolos and cymbals. It's so well balanced, I love it!!!

I will first start with the percussion. The sound yet again does not disappoint. The Timpani is SO much better than Muse's. All instruments do their job, but there are a few problems. The Taikos tremolo is extremely quite, and I cannot use it. Other than that, everything seems to work. Variety, however, is an issue. There are only about ten to twelve intruments, and I would prefer a lot more than that. Now, my overview of Vienna. In my opinion, Vienna's biggest positive is the quality. On many of Muse's libraries, there is a very noticeable "buzz" sound in the lower dynamics that take a large tole on sound. In Vienna there is no such sound and the nailed it in the lower dynamics. However, there are a few concerns. The Legato is not very noticeable in many of the instruments. For me, smooth Legato is one of my favorite concepts in music. The volume, at least compared to other libraries, is very quiet. When editing my scores, I must manually edit the volume in the mixer or use the Native Instruments Supercharger VST Plugin. There are also some glitches and bugs in some of the libraries that must be resolved. The biggest problem I would probably have with it is the Legato, but it is not deal breaker. So, is Vienna worth it? Yes, yes it is. The sound quality alone is good enough and it is much more reliable and consistent than Muse. As a last remark, what would be the cherry on top is a Vienna Choir library. Let's be honest, what is available right now is not very good. Voxos is insanely old and very buggy, and Chorus from Audio Imperia was sadly a no go.
