TRUE PEAK LIMITER
ARLIMIT is a true peak limiter designed for the final stage of the chain. GAIN drives the signal into the limiter while CEILING sets the maximum output level. True peak detection runs at 16× oversampling with an additional safety margin, catching inter-sample peaks before they can exceed the specified ceiling. LOOKAHEAD ranges from 0.1 to 5 ms while maintaining constant reported latency, allowing it to be automated without shifting the signal in time. ATTACK spreads gain reduction across the lookahead window without allowing peaks through, while program-dependent RELEASE adapts its recovery to the amount of reduction, responding more slowly to deep limiting and more quickly to lighter processing. KNEE introduces gain reduction below the ceiling for a smoother transition into limiting. Separate TRANSIENT LINK and RELEASE LINK controls determine how the stereo channels interact, allowing transients to be caught together while their release behaviour remains more independent. The display separates gain reduction from the audio signal, showing five seconds of reduction history alongside the input silhouette, limited output, and ceiling. Full BS.1770 metering provides integrated, short-term, and momentary LUFS, true peak, and PLR, with peak holds and a resettable session maximum. DELTA monitoring isolates only what the limiter removes, while built-in dither with optional noise shaping prepares the final output for reduced bit depths. ARLIMIT includes 15 factory presets and supports AU and VST3 on macOS and Windows.
