How AI vocal removal works

A finished song contains many sounds playing at the same time. Source-separation AI analyses patterns in the recording and estimates which parts belong to the lead vocal and which parts belong to the accompaniment.

The tool then rebuilds the accompaniment as a separate instrumental file. Results depend on the original mix: clear studio vocals usually separate more cleanly than live recordings, layered harmonies or tracks with heavy reverb and distortion.

Tips for a cleaner instrumental

Upload the highest-quality source you have. WAV and FLAC preserve more detail than low-bitrate compressed files.
Use the original file when possible. Converting a low-quality MP3 to WAV does not restore missing audio information.
Preview the intro, chorus and quiet sections before downloading. Separation artifacts are often easiest to hear in these areas.
Expect some vocal residue when the vocal is heavily processed, doubled, panned widely or mixed into loud instruments.

Troubleshooting

The file will not upload

Confirm that the file uses a supported format and is no larger than 1GB or 20 minutes. If the file still fails, export a new MP3 or WAV version and try again.

The instrumental still contains part of the vocal

This can happen when vocals overlap with instruments in the same frequency range or use strong effects. Try a higher-quality source file. A small amount of residue may remain in difficult mixes.

The result sounds metallic or watery

These artifacts can appear when the original mix is dense or heavily compressed. Use a lossless source where possible and compare the result with another master of the same track.
