ARTS is a transient shaper designed to reshape the attack and sustain of a sound based on how its level changes rather than its absolute loudness. It uses fast and slow envelope followers and processes the difference between them, allowing it to respond to the way each sound starts even on material with a relatively consistent level. ATTACK and SUSTAIN provide bipolar control from −100% to +100%, letting you emphasize or soften the initial hit and tail independently. Detection can follow the full spectrum or focus on the low, mid, or high frequencies, allowing specific elements such as kicks, snares, or hi-hats to drive the shaping. PUMP introduces gain movement synchronized with detected transients, while SPEED adjusts how quickly the detector responds. An output CLIP stage catches peaks created by the processing, and MIX provides parallel blending with the original signal.

What ARTS offers

Bipolar Attack & Sustain: Shape both from −100% to +100% to emphasize or soften hits and tails
Dual Envelope Detection: Uses the difference between fast and slow envelope followers to detect transient movement
Frequency-Focused Detection: Drive the shaping from the full spectrum or low, mid, or high frequency bands
Transient-Synced Pump: Add subtle to pronounced gain movement that follows the detected transients
Adjustable Detector Speed: Move from slower, rounded responses to fast shaping of the initial attack
Clip & Parallel Mix: Catch peaks created by transient shaping and blend the processed signal with the dry source
