Each of the six bands is a complete compressor, with its own timing, knee, makeup and range, a choice of RMS or Peak detection and a high-pass on its detector. A band can push peaks down, or in UP mode lift quiet detail by up to 30 dB. Drag a crossover or double-click it to type a frequency, drag a band's threshold line to set it, and solo or mute any band to hear exactly what it is doing. The Harmonics Engine adds saturation at two points. IN DRIVE works on every band before compression. It can feed the detectors alone, so the bands compress more evenly while the audio you hear stays clean, or in AUDIBLE mode it saturates the bands themselves, with optional 2x or 4x oversampling. OUT EXCITER colors the summed mix, from bright density at low settings to a darker, thicker sound higher up, with its own level matching of up to 6 dB. Lookahead of up to 10 ms helps the bands catch fast peaks, and MIX blends processed and dry sound for parallel compression, going past 100 percent for extra wet gain. With oversampling and lookahead off, Harmonic adds no latency; with them on, it reports the delay to your DAW so everything stays aligned. Two setup slots, A and B, plus undo, redo and LINK ALL make it quick to compare ideas and move every band together. Six factory presets, from gentle mastering and bass tightening to vocal de-essing and presence control, give you a starting point, and you can save your own. AU, VST3 and AAX on macOS; VST3 and AAX on Windows. Installs and updates through MuseHub, with no license key. Requires macOS 10.15 or later on Intel or macOS 11 or later on Apple silicon, or Windows 10 or later, 64-bit.

What Harmonic Multiband Compressor offers

Six bands split by five crossovers you drag on the spectrum or type, from 20 Hz to 20 kHz
Per band: threshold, ratio, knee, attack, release, makeup, range and RMS or Peak detection
Down or Up mode on each band, to compress peaks or lift quiet detail by as much as 30 dB
IN DRIVE can saturate what the detectors hear, or the band audio itself in AUDIBLE mode
OUT EXCITER adds harmonics to the summed mix, with its own level matching
Lookahead to 10 ms, 2x or 4x oversampling, MIX up to 200 percent and A/B setup slots

What’s new

  • You can now save your own presets: open the PRESETS menu, choose Save preset..., and your presets appear under User in the same menu, where you can rename or delete them. A 5 Hz DC blocker now works at every sample rate, dry and wet stay time-aligned at IN DRIVE 0 with oversampling on, and IN DRIVE fades in instead of jumping. The COMP, OUT EXCITER and ATTACK tooltips now describe exactly what they do, and saved sessions sound exactly as before.
