Burnish Vocal Chain

Burnish Vocal Chain

Burnish is a vocal chain plugin that covers the main steps of a lead-vocal mix in one window: tuning, cleanup, tone, compression, color, doubling, delay and reverb. A six-control PLAY view makes quick moves; load a reference record to get an editable starting point, or start from one of 66 factory chains.

Burnish Vocal Chain brings eight stages of vocal processing into one plugin, from cleanup and tuning through shaping, compression, color, doubling, delay and reverb, to final level control. Clean up noise and breaths, tune the take by picking the key and scale, then shape the tone with five bands of EQ and a de-esser for harsh S sounds. Control dynamics with two compressors, one fast for peaks, one smooth for broader leveling, then add Tape, Tube or Present saturation. Widen the lead with two or four detuned copies, add delay and reverb that duck under the voice, then finish with a loudness rider and safety limiter. To start faster, the PLAY view gives you six knobs, one per part of the chain. Load a reference song and Burnish reads its tone, dynamics, sibilance, space and tuning style, then suggests settings. The analysis runs on your own computer, so your reference audio is not uploaded. Choose TRACK mode for low latency while recording, or MIX for full quality. With 66 factory chains, 12 of them Learn presets that turn on a single stage so you can hear it work, Burnish gives you a complete vocal workflow without stacking separate plugins.

What Burnish Vocal Chain offers

Eight stages in one window: tune, clean, shape, compress, color, double, space and ride
A scope on every station, and every lit element maps to a measured signal quantity
Track mode runs the whole chain at 0.1 ms total, four samples at 48 kHz, zero lookahead
Drop a reference record: a fully local analysis proposes settings and explains each stage
66 factory chains carry measured target profiles, so a chain re-fits to your own voice
Exact typed values in Hz, dB, ms, cents, ratios or percent on the deck and every page

What’s new

  • You can now save your own presets: open the PRESETS menu, choose Save preset..., and your presets appear under User, where you can rename or delete them. Picking a factory preset now fits it to your voice once, Adapt to my voice only re-fits when Match Amount really moves, and switching or automating Tune Path now always reports the right latency to your DAW so tracks stay aligned. Damaged reference audio files are now refused safely instead of freezing your DAW.
