I originally thought this plugin was broken, but the real issue was my setup. I had Windows installed on my hard drive instead of my SSD, and nothing ran properly because of it—my DAW included. After wiping my system and reinstalling Windows on the SSD, the plugin finally worked exactly as intended, and it’s become one of my favourites. One thing I learned along the way: if you’ve installed Audacity from the official website and you’re having compatibility issues, that version can linger even after uninstalling. The cleanest fix for me was reinstalling Windows and then installing Audacity through Muse Hub instead. That combination finally gave me a stable environment where the plugin worked perfectly. So the takeaway is simple: If everything feels cursed and nothing fixes it, a full reinstall might be the only way to get a clean slate. In my case, it was absolutely worth it.

Description
Polyspectral MBC is a cutting-edge multiband compressor plugin, designed for musicians, producers, and audio engineers seeking precise and transparent dynamic control. You can use multiband compression to "reach inside" your mix, and achieve everything from full mix mastering to sculpting drum tracks to simple de-essing. Multiband compression splits the audio signal into multiple frequency bands, allowing independent compression of each range. This advanced technique provides enhanced control over the dynamics of your mix, enabling you to address specific frequency issues without affecting the entire signal. Whether you're tightening up the bass, controlling midrange dynamics, or smoothing out high frequencies, multiband compression can be the "secret sauce" that helps you achieve a balanced and polished "radio ready" sound. It's perfect for use on a master channel, to sculpt the entire mix - or, on individual instruments or vocals that need some attention. Polyspectral MBC is built to be efficient and sonically transparent, providing ultra-low latency for real-time applications and ensuring you have the control you need to make your mix shine.
