Vintage Tube Amp, Low Watt Tube Saturation.
TRIODE is a component model of a 4 watt, single-ended Class A tube amplifier, like a Champ. A triode preamp adds even-order harmonics, a pentode output stage adds odd. The circuit is the 1959 Harmony H303, built on ‘All American Five’ radio tubes from 1950s. The circuit was measured on the real hardware, so TRIODE distorts the way the actual vintage tube amp distorts. Play softly and it stays clean. Push it and it breaks up. The amount of grit follows how hard you push it. It's satisfying to play guitar through, and it works just as well on drums, synths, or vocals when a track needs some tube character. GAIN control adds a up to 40 dB of 'clean boost' into the input of the amp. A large oscilloscope shows the waveforms. An IR loader to swap the speaker. MIX control blends in the dry signal for a lighter touch. TIP: Turn the main output down to -12 dB, then crank GAIN and OUTPUT for full saturation.
