Pick one of 66 factory chains by style, from pop, R&B, rap and drill to rock, country and voice-over, then finish by ear in PLAY, where 12 o'clock on each macro leaves the chain as it is and turning left or right gives less or more. Open DESIGN to work on any single station with its own controls and scope, and use MATCH A/B to hear the dry voice at the chain's loudness, so you judge the processing and not the level. The tuner has two paths. Classic is the hard-tune snap; Natural corrects without changing your vowels and adds THROAT to shift the size of the voice without changing its pitch. Set the key and scale or allow notes one by one on the keyboard, then set the speed from an instant snap to a glide of about 400 ms. The screen draws the pitch you sang, the corrected line and the legal notes as you go. Drop a reference record on the tray, ideally an acapella, click LEARN and sing about 10 seconds. Burnish measures your voice, and MATCH sets how far the chain moves toward the reference, up to 150 percent, while 0 gives back the chain you had. The analysis runs on your computer and keeps the measurements, never your audio. TRACK mode reports 4 samples of latency and uses the Classic tuner, so a singer can record through the whole chain; MIX runs at full quality and reports its exact delay to your DAW. Breath control turns breaths down between phrases without removing them, delay and reverb bloom between lines, and the rider moves the vocal like a hand on the fader. The tuner follows one vocal line, so give each singer their own instance. AU, VST3 and AAX on macOS; VST3 and AAX on Windows. Installs and updates through MuseHub, with no license key. Requires macOS 10.15 or later on Intel or macOS 11 or later on Apple silicon, or Windows 10 or later, 64-bit.

What’s new

  • Burnish 1.2 can learn your voice: press LEARN, play a take, and the reference fit starts from your measured voice. The de-esser now reduces esses instead of boosting them, high notes no longer track an octave low, and the delay can no longer run away. Chain picks keep TRACK/MIX and bypass. Stage switches, EQ moves and effect changes fade instead of clicking. Sessions saved in earlier versions keep their original sound.
