“Modern Sound Design & Mix Techniques” explores contemporary approaches to audio manipulation, routing, and creative processing. In this course, Chris Herrera demonstrates advanced techniques for reshaping sounds and enhancing productions using bus routing, resampling, and modern editing tools. The training begins with setting up bus channels and delay effects, working with third-party plugins, summing channels for processing, and building layered effect chains. Although Logic Pro X is used in the demonstrations, many of the concepts apply broadly to other DAWs. Next, the course examines creative panning and mixing strategies before diving into resampling techniques. You’ll learn how to bounce drum loops and MIDI parts for further manipulation, using tools such as Flex Time and Groove Quantize. Additional lessons include converting audio loops back into MIDI for use in the EXS24 sampler, transforming synth lines through resampling, applying Flex Pitch and Melodyne for further manipulation, and creating stutter effects, glitches, and other modern production textures.
