Songwriting with Vocal Acapellas

“Songwriting with Vocal Acapellas” shows you how to take a standalone vocal track and build a complete production around it. In this course, Eli Krantzberg demonstrates the full songwriting process using a vocal acapella as the foundation. The training begins with a comparison of the original acapella and the finished production created throughout the series. You’ll then learn how to align vocal tracks to your DAW’s tempo and grid, develop chord progressions for different song sections, and tune and edit the vocals so they sit naturally within the groove. Next, the course moves into production, including building a beat, adding keyboard parts, and shaping kick, snare, hi-hats, and bass to properly support the vocal. You’ll also explore arrangement techniques to enhance each section of the song, including the addition of synth lead lines and other supporting elements. The series then focuses on transitions, demonstrating techniques such as reversed audio, snare rolls, pitch bend automation, and other methods to create movement between sections. Finally, you’ll learn mixing techniques including subgroup processing, bus compression, granular effects, and additional tools to polish the final production. Acapella tracks are included so you can follow along and create your own version.
