Muse Strings Reviews

The sounds are good, but there are some problems with pizzicato sound in group strings. Pizzicato sounds sharp and clappy as if the string was pulled hard. I hope you will fix it

portamento on solo strings ruins string quartet. I gess this is the way they have to make you pay for well done products, since this issue would fail any basic test..

Every note is played glissando in the solo violins and it doesn't sound good

So far pizzicatos are great, except when putting a staccato to pizz cello and contrabass but it still vibrates is bugging me. There is also an issue the contrabass pizz is too quiet to be used for big band music since contrabass is used for that type of music as well.

Violin 1 (Section & Solo) is too loud Viola (Section & Solo) is too quiet Too much portamento on solo instruments No Contrabass (Solo)

The balance between Violin 1 and everything else needs to be edited so they're more equal.

These are among the best strings sounds I've ever worked with — better even than some VSTs I've paid for. However, there are a couple of things I'd suggest for improvement. First of all, it would benefit from a solo double bass. This would be useful in some classical contexts like chamber music or double bass concertos, but also in jazz. I'm currently using the CineStrings solo bass for these cases (although I prefer the Muse Sounds solo strings for violin, viola, and cello). Second, there are some volume balance issues. Section Violins 1 are louder than Section Violins 2. More notable are the volume issues with the violas and solo cello. Since originally writing this review, the solo viola has since been adjusted to a more suitable dynamic, but the viola section is still too quiet at louder dynamics. The solo cello was also made louder, but I think it's a bit too loud now (no solo string should be louder than the corresponding section if both are playing at the same dynamic).

I was clearly not expecting such quality. Awesome there! Keep up such amazing work Muse team! <3

Even the Violins 1 are much better than before the Hub's update

These, and all other muse-sound free sounds are very very realistic sounding. I have noticed, with strings only, there's a good bit of "white-noise-like" feedback when notation reads for the sections to play any quieter than at a Piano level. But, the playback clarity is still just fine! Just adds another layer of noise to the music that may be overwhelming for some.

I use this to share my ideas with people, and are often asked weather or not it was preformed live. 10/10 would recommend, however the price is a bit steep ;)

There has never been something like this for free. Great job Muse team, maybe in the future there might be some AI integration??

Finally everything is back to how it was before, these excellent sounds are with me again! Excellent work from all points of view.

These strings can sound better than a lot of VSTs to be honest. A must have if you're composing for strings in Musescore 4. They broke in a recent update which was frustrating, but are back now. Kudos to the team responsible for fixing it so quickly.
