Muse Choir Reviews

Dissappointing in its current state The samples really do sound Great! Much much better than basic choir samples, but when rhythms don't play correctly that doesn't really matter, it still cant be used.. It is constantly rushing even slow notes and is all over the place on faster notes. There is also a jarring swelling effect that makes random crescendos everywhere. If the swelling was tweakable it might help. Different note samples also seem to have notably different volumes even outside of play mode. I see modifying wovels through staff text was recently added. That is a great feature! but again: It doesn't matter as long as it cant play rhythms correctly. New rims don't help when the tires are flat.

Its difficult to arrange and compose when the choir randomly swings notes, throwing off the rhythm. Please fix this!

The sounds are lovely and blend together very nicely but there is absolutely no sense of rhythm. Voices are consistently early/late for no reason and additionally struggle to create any space between notes. This renders it almost unusable, as there’s no way to get any real sense of what your music actually sounds like! I feel like this would be a really easy fix, so please listen to us!

As others have said, the dynamics and levels are all over the place, making them basically unusable. I can see how they could be better than the standard offering, but they are too unpredictable at present.

With no dynamics set in my score, the output volume is inconsistent during playback from note to note. It does not happen with any specfic note(s), but seems to be totally random. I use the Full Choir voice.

I can't give a thumbs down for free - but I'm looking forward to future improvements. Dynamics need help, along with balancing, though that can mostly be micromanaged for making rehearsal tracks. The biggest improvement would be to sample more vowel sounds - I'd recommend starting with all the Italian vowel sounds and go from there.

The soundfont sounds good, but the balancing is TERRIBLE. The men often sound louder than the women and the sopranos, even on fortississimo, sound quiet. The dynamics for them can go all over the place which makes this soundfont not easy to work with at all. I would really appreciate if all of this was fixed.

This is MILES better than the standard MS vocal font, but voice parts (sopranos in particular, altos to some extent) constantly rush ahead of notes. Does it have something to do with the "fast mode" mentioned in the user guide? Please fix!! This is such a lovely soundfont, I desperately want to use it!

All in all I do like how the voices sound but MAN. I don't know what happened to those sopranos but they are struggling. Either they rush notes (to be fair EVERY voice part does at times for some reason), disappear into the void, or just smack you awake. Every voice part has some quirks and bugs, but the sopranos especially need some attention. A couple of tweaks and this sound font could be amazing.

I really enjoy this soundfont. It's nice to have real voices. However, the mixing is not the greatest. The Sopranos for example get really loud when forte but get really quiet in mezzo piano, it makes finding a balance in SATB pretty difficult.

The choir is beautiful but when you add lyrics, the choir singers don't sing the lyrics

I've been using Muse Choir for 2 months and in all honesty, this is a great product considering it's free to use. Of course, it's not the best, but it does the job and is honestly better than some paid options. Keep up the great work, Muse Group!

I reported this two months ago and today I went back to a score that showed it, and the problem is still there. Here is an example file. Whenever there is an “Oo” vowel, not ‘Oh’, Muse Choir fastens on it and reverts to it at the next note without a lyric, whether tied or extended by underscore. A workaround is to add an invisible ‘Ah’ lyric but then the underscores are invisible too. https://musescore.com/user/29209262/scores/25037782?share=copy_link I tried to report this at 'Customer support' but the form did not work. The sound quality is not good, the Legato seems like it evaporates as soon as it hits, AND THE DYNAMICS AGAIN!!!

Fantasy Legend

Why bother with a new automatic vowel system which is dynamically inconsistent? Please make it easy to turn off.

imperfect-okapi685

Definitely an improvement. Very quiet though. A solid option to make a demo for a performing choir.

medical-spider666

Nice voices, I like them, but the volume is really too low respect other instruments
