MuseScore Studio Reviews

I've been using Musescore for years and it always worked well, but this last update to 4 was an absolute miss. I haven't been able to use it since. I can open it, start a score and playback old scores, but that's about it. Unfortunately reverting back did not proof an option, all my scores have changed to 4 and aren't backwards compatible. Do not download unless you own a very new PC, otherwise choose older downloads and leave this one untouched.

I've been composing on this software quite a while and I could confirm that this is one of the best notation apps out there, it is really comfortable and easy to use, with a huge range of tools available to use. Although it has some bugs, but overall it's really good.

at the beginning was Good, you got plenty options for free, but every upadate comes with bugs of any type, sound, lagging, crashes, etc. At this point, i can't even use it, im looking for other options, even if it cost me

I've tried Sibelius and Finale's trial versions... which are apparently fully equipped software environments. I found myself wondering why they couldn't have had some of the functions that musescore implemented in this program able to be accessed with the same level of ease. when trying those out, I found myself constantly in a forum or a support page attempting to locate something I was looking for to put into my scores... With MS4, I've almost always been able to figure out what to do/where to go in the interface to perform a specific action. without fail. I've used MS3&4 on and off since about 2016. More recently this year (2024), I've used it extensively for symphony orchestral scores, of 25+ parts. It's handled these flawlessly, for the most part. And the fact that the realistic playback is pre-set as integrated to the application is just that much better compared to the others, where MIDI is the only playback available, out the box. I'd highly recommend giving it a go. You have nothing to lose! its free!

have made a couple simple pieces, very and really recommending it!

hay algunos shortcuts que no funcionan, como por ejemplo ligadura de tiempo en ciertos valores, y el poder desplazar una frase diatonicamente

I have been using MuseScore for a couple years now and it does not disappoint, especially for a free app.

I really like Musescore and have used it more compositions for over a year now. However, there are some minor issues. - When making custom palletes some of the block things are not sized properly. - Several instruments in Wind Bands and Orchestras don't have Musesounds yet. These include Clarinet in A, Contrabass Clarinet in Eb OR Bb, Euphonium, and Bass Oboes. - Sometimes when editing pieces this really weird bug comes up where beams from my music are randomly moved the the corner of my screen. For example I copy and paste an oboe part onto clarinet 1, and all the beams for the eighth notes in the pervious measure just randomly go to the top left of the screen. This usually fixes itself after two to three reopenings of the app, but it is still weird. Musescore is the composing app I could dream of! Thank you so much for creating it and way to go with following the community's requests! Thank you.

Hi Muse Team! Thank you for creating such a wonderful software! The Muse Sounds are really taking my music to new heights! However, I'm experiencing far too many issues with downloading things from the NEW Muse Hub. Whether it's a Muse Sounds library or a new update of MuseScore Studio. The popup window shows 'An unknown error has occurred.' And then, it resets all the stuff that it has downloaded. Thank you

I wish I would have know about this sooner!!! This is the best free software that I have found for songwriters!!!!

When using a certain device, the audio is completely broken, everything is up an octave and the bpm of projects is almost doubled (it happens live when those things didn't actually change).

Absolutely cannot believe it is free!

I’ve used this for over two years and it has never disappointed me. I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for this app, it has changed my life for the better. Thank you MuseScore. Never change.

I love how the Devs actually care about this project and aim to create one of the best programs out there. I love it all, and I wouldn't be where I am today with music Comp without it! Love yall!

What a gorgeous piece of software it has become! Very easy to use (somewhat Sibelius-like) and capable. Free sounds are very nice too. Though I own two other software, I can't say I won't be using this a lot.
