“Sound Design for TV, Film & Games” shows you the workflow involved in creating audio for visual media. In this course, Gary Hiebner demonstrates the process of designing, syncing, and delivering sound for video projects. The series begins with an introduction to sound design for media and a demonstration of the project that will be developed throughout the course. You’ll then learn how to import video into your DAW, create hit point markers, determine tempo, and locate and sync sound effects to picture. Next, the training focuses on practical sound design techniques, including syncing sound effects to animated movements, using whoosh effects for motion, and applying time-stretching for variation. You’ll also explore the use of risers and build-ups as sound effects, along with creating piano melodies and chord progressions. The course continues with adding strings, choirs, drums, bass, percussion, horns, synths, swells, and other musical elements to support the visuals. Finally, you’ll learn how to shape dynamics in the mix and properly export and embed your audio with video for delivery to a client or production team.
