I never using any Berlin libraries solo, because of problems with time, phrasing e.t.c But i found out, that this library is good enough for doubling. For example if i need 2 trombones plays in unison - best solution is use Musesound trombone for 1st and Berlin trombone for 2nd. And that sounds like 2 trombones and completely correct. So I make extra tracks for pairs. This way works for horns, trumpets, trombones, flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons. This is a real reason to buy Woods and Brass. There's no way to use pairs by Musesound only (except flutes).
Berlin Brass Reviews
Adding muted sounds / scoops-falls would make this pack even better. Overall the sounds out the box are pretty solid except for the tuba and slurred phrases. The Tuba is lacking in rich sound, I ended up using normal muse brass for Tuba. The slurred phrases can get a bit muddy depending on interval.
DOES NOT WORK FOR LINUX - and you don't find out until you've paid $50

All of the instruments (both the individuals and the ensembles) sound phenomenal, and are consistent across various dynamics and articulations. The amount of realistic expression throughout said dynamics and articulations is something that I, personally, have been seeking out. I do, however, think that the tuba is lacking in that "phenomenal" sound, though that's just of my own preference, and it sounds fine otherwise. It's a shame that there are no mute options or falls/scoops for any of the instruments, hopefully this will be changed some time in the future. Regardless, I highly recommend this! It's probably the best brass MuseSound thingy you can get.
Sounds good if u mix the sounds later on your DAW.
I got this mainly for the trumpets (because I play trumpet), and the low brass. Well... The trumpets sound great (both ensemble and solo) but they are really missing mute sounds. For the other instruments I don't mind it too much, but since muted trumpet gets used a lot more than the other instruments it really is a pity. The trombones I just don't use, but the low brass ((bass-trombone and tuba) sounds fantastic. Horns are pretty good too.
The sounds are great but it's unacceptable that for all that you pay for this library you get no mute sounds nor the most basic articulations such as flatter tongue or horn glissando rips. At least is the only library that has trombone glisses, but that is not enough for the money you pay for this.
Sadly, the brass can't play muted/gestopft sound, this is a serious omission
Really good quality brass sounds! They bring a lot of power to my scores, and I usually have any issues. However, I don't really like the trombones. The accents cut through the mix, and the glissandos don't sound right.. They tend to drag, or not play what written. Either way, I'm leaving a good review because I think this is the best brass pack for the price!
Best of current Berlin but some issues with dynamics, attacks and release notes. Trombones have an extra sample that fades on a legato transition and plays an extra note. Current state is usable.
Great sound and dynamics!
Honestly I don’t use brass THAT much but regular MuseBrass kinda sucks (even the horns) so this is REALLY worth it, and now I actually use trumpet.
I love the sound of this library, one of the things that should be improved is the Trombone Glissandos.
There aren't any muted samples, but I, a trumpet player, have to say that the trumpets are the best sampled trumpets I have ever heard.
I really like this library but i would like to warn people buying over a few small things. One, the accents are REALLY heavy. And two, some instruments in specific rythms almost drag a lot, yet i did find this to be the case with all the other Orchestral tools’ libraries. If its in atleast a decent sized ensemble it likely wont be noticed. Overall, this library and the rest of Orchestral tools’ libraries are amazing
Trombones could use some work, and I wish the glissandi worked. I would recommend turning the default reverb down a bit, but great other than that. In my opinion this has the best trumpet sound you could get out of any of these packs right now. I also love the individualized horns, however I wish they had the same features as the "horn section." Would definitely recommend.
Trombones have a really authentic sound. Trumpets are really bright. Honestly beautiful! :)
For 20 dollars, you only get basic techniques. The articulations are really weird... Accent plays like staccatissimo, and there are no muted parts. Also, no glissandi for trombones as is shown in the video. There's no way I found to get a really brassy sound on sustained notes. Accents are the closest, but they just sound like disgusting stabs and don't even sustain after the attack as if they're staccato when they're not. A little disappointed to have spent 20 dollars on this, but most of the sound is nice at least.
I cannot use trombones as they are two far in the mix, the attack is too slow. I have to use the musecore ones. Instead, the trumpet is better than muscscore one, in my point of view.
An amazing improvement in sound quality compared to the default soundfonts of MuseScore. But need more instruments for example Euphonium and Saxs are still missing.
I like this VST a lot, but I just wish that mutes were added. Or stopped horns for that matter. Also, there are some dynamics bugs in the horns which may need to be patched.
Cordiales saludos
It has a very realistic sound and nicely mixed - not too close or too reverberant or overly expressive. They sit well with the rest of the Berlin series or on their own.
