especially for trombones, mezzoforte or softer is basically inaudible and forte is blasting loud. it'd be an extremely nice free brass sample library with this fixed but as-is it's basically unusable.
Muse Brass Reviews
These are amazing for being free, but I would love two have some Trombone glissandos and Horn rips.
-Trombone and Trumpet Dynamics (Mezzo forte and under) -Trombone Gliss -Adding Euphonium
Of course my main gripe is with the Trombone’s dynamics, Mezzo Forte and below are literally unhearable, this is a major problem especially for Big Band since there Mezzo Forte is more like what forte is in this Musesound, the other thing is that since I write for Big Bands, I would also like fugelhorn, harmon mute trumpet, cup mute trumpet, plunger mute trumpet, piccolo trumpet, plunger mute trombone, as well as a higher range for trumpet (I don’t expect you to increase the range much but if you add a note or two to the trumpet’s higher end every few updates that would be nice)
A huge (free) step up in my playback, but the trombone is nearly inaudible in mezzo forte and below, whereas forte is blaringly loud. I imagine it’s a simple fix and it’d make the pack a lot more usable.
Musesounds is honestly amazing, considering that it's free, but my main issue with this soundfont lies with the dynamics. I'm mainly talking about trombone. On softer dynamics, you could barely hear the trombone when playing with other instruments on the same dynamic. Sometimes, you can't even hear them at all! On the louder end, the trombone easily overpowers the rest of the instruments. I'm always having to add a hidden dynamic on the trombone part just to balance the sound out.
the sounds are very realistic and much better every other soundfont, but the dynamics are very bad. most of the time they're way too quiet (even the ensemble versions) or way too loud (or the timbre changes too much, especially noticeable on trombone)
bad Please revert
I really love this soundfont, but it lacks euphonium and baritone, and i could really use a soundfont with a euphonium and/or baritone.
Please add also Euphonium in Muse Brass. I need it for some of my band arrangements
1. Glissando on trombone does not sound properly 2. Trombone tuning goes sharp at a louder dynamic 3. Add Euphonium!!! 4. Tuba causes some pops at the end of a note 5. The audio quality of the current "Euphonium" peaks and has a static sound on certain notes ex. A3, Bb3, C4 etc. 6. Minor dynamic issues with decrescendos and crescendos I hear all of these issues in my arrangement of "Rains of Castamere" if you want an example of each of these problems!
Sustained notes on tuba end with a loud, unpleasant pop/click. I suspect there is probably a round robin in place, and only SOME samples are broken, because that does not happen all the time. But please check all tuba samples again. It is such a pity for an otherwise very high-quality brass library.
-Should add a euphonium -Trumpets a6 articulation for staccato is not giving short vibes -Loud Trombones are a bit out of tone (maybe) -Horns can be a bit waggy but ova it's okay ^^
Just a WTF better sound for all instruments, it's free, thanks for this, i hope you going to add more instruments for the futur THANKS again
PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE ADD BARITONE/EUPHONIUM aside from that and trombones being a bit unstable, it's perfect :D
Partner Response: Hi there! Thanks for your feedback. You can find our Euphonium library here: https://www.musehub.com/muse-sounds/euphonium
The trombone sounds just straight up do not work, they are super delayed and whenever there’s a crescendo it gets super loud and then immediately soft after (like an unwritten fp) and the soft dynamics are absurdly quiet for some reason, not balanced with respect to the louder dynamics. For passages with many notes it just doesn’t even play half the notes for some reason. I had to just uninstall the brass sounds and use MS basic midi sounds.
the only thing I'm picky about is that it's very quiet and there's no euphonium.
Great that it's free, love using it. Sounds great for band arrangements. Better then all the default sounds.
Very happy with the ensemble sounds. Solo sounds are alright, but dynamics are all over the place. Particularly the jump between mf and f for the trombone. Bass trombone in general is a bit quiet. And the softer dynamics on all instruments are so incredibly soft, meaning it's practically impossible to get the more mellow timbre of the instruments to be heard amongst on ensemble. The way I got around this was to simply double the amount of the brass instruments; one for mf to ff, and another for pp-mp which are boosted in the mixer. Obviously, it's rather inconvenient. Overall, pretty cool.
Its a realy good orchestra sound but its not very compatible with any other mod because of the dynamics. Almost every brass instrument is overpowered by all other instruments but in a only brass arangment its a pretty good mod for slow and quiet songs
Thank you Muse Group! I really like the sound of this product. But they're a lot of certain issues of the sound like super harsh like angry not light not kind of a pop or standard, its sounds more classical. I need a Suggestion to make a sound more lively like Recorded Live Brass. Make the brass sounds live and light sound even they're modulating the dynamics even it is a playback. Thank You and The Best Libraries.
Thank you Muse Group! I love the sound of this pack. The dynamics are really quiet below forte though, something that can be fixed in the mixer. I do wish this pack had Euphonium (for free).
Biggest complaint is the uneven dynamic response. The loud sounds brighten in tone uncharacteristically suddenly. It should have a move gradual opening of the envelope of brightness from soft to loud. Second, there seems to be automatic balancing of certain notes that I cannot adjust. It brings out sustains and brings down moving lines. That is opposite of what I would generally want. I'd prefer if it did not try to interpret at all. Finally, I've noticed some notes sustain after their notated duration if they were the last note of a slurred passage. This could eventually be a market leading brass library. Seems like the foundations are good, just needs continued development.
I love it, helps a lot but staccatos I have conflict with. Especially with trumpet. They are not short enough and don't align with woodwinds very well which have excellent staccatos. It shows especially with genres like Jazz. Also, staccatos just don't work on muted trumpet in-fact, they work more as accents. I'm not sure if that is with general muted instruments. Also, fix trombone dynamics, they are barely balanced. Metso-forte to forte feels like piano to fortissimo.
