It would be good to add a solo double bass version. Also, the *staccato* sound of the violas could be improved. There is an issue with the cello: when the "Classic Phrasing" option is applied to the score, it simply stops playing certain notes. And the staccatos in the violins sound like legato; I have to use staccatissimo to get a staccato sound.
I think the sounds are beautiful, just that the articulations are a bit wonky. When you have a phrase that is slurred and ends with a staccato, the last note with the staccato is a lot louder than the rest of the phrase making it quite out of place. I don't know what to think of the sliding in slower passages for Violin 1s, but I find myself using the Violin 2s sound for first violins as they do not gliss up and down across notes.
I’ve been using Muse Strings for quite a while now, and don’t have many major issues regarding the sound produced. That said, there are a few areas for improvement: - Portamentos (especially Violin II) sometimes sound at random - The cellos sound “dirty” for whatever reason. There’s some high-pitched background sound that the other instruments don’t have. I have to apply 2 “Reduce Sizzle” effects through SimpleEQ to remove most of it, but that leaves the cellos sounding a bit dull. - Pizzicatos for all strings also sound “dirty”. There’s a lot of noticeable background noise (random clicks, hissing, sometimes what sounds like something being dropped) to them.
It's beautiful, this is very nice for ostinattos
The other strings sound great, but please fix the viola staccatos, they are way too quiet compared to every other aspect of the instrument

this might be the best pack ive ever gotten, its violin is smooth, it sounds heavenly, i love it.
• Soundfont update: - Add Solo Double Bass soundfont; ranged between C0–G4 (so it's also usable for the Octobass), and make it come with 2 different pizzicato styles: Classical (orchestral) Pizzicato, and Jazz Pizzicato. - Add Full Strings (whole string section) soundfont with total range of A0–G7 (uses "Strings" instrument in the studio). - Add the Tenor Violin soundfont and instrument in the studio; ranged between G2-E6. - Add Celli-Basses octave soundfont (a soundfont that sounds as cello and bass in octave simultaneously; named as Celli-Basses 8ve. in files), ranged the same as cello, in order to make orchestral scores that unify cello and bass stave able to sound in octave simultaneously. - Add Violin Piccolo sounfont, ranged C4–C8.

great but : - some articulations aren’t supported (marcatos, accents) ; - glissandos really bad (to the point that i’ll use museBasic for that) ; - you can hear the noise of the recording on certain pizzicatos. Apart from that, it’s great for a free product
The Viola Section sound is way to quiet to the point were have to heavily increase its volume, and it also being very poor at performing certain articulations and playing out of time. The Viola solo sound is pretty good in my opinion, but my only problem is the pizzicato sound is way too loud and drowns out others instruments.
This strings is super lushy. Hopefully the phrasing, the staccato, and the notes are being executed just like noteperformer. But I like the legato-portamento sounds like live studio recording but I believe that these instruments samples are live recorded. Well Done!
Its is extremely necessary that you add tremolo and staccato with harmonics, non vibrato, sul tasto, sul ponticello sounds. This would make the perfect library.
Without the 'classical phrasing' modifier there is a constant and annoyingly excessive portamento; with it, half of the notes will not play on the viola and cello. You can hear in the violins what the intended effect is (which is beautiful with classical phrasing enabled), but this issue has evidently been known to the developers for several years and it has not been resolved. At least none of us paid to discover this... Edit: In the meantime, normal phrasing with the non-legato setting somewhat reduces the portamento, but the viola and cello are still unusable for most styles/genres in that regard.
When the classical phrasing is on, some of the notes don’t play and it sounds dotted or like there’s a short rest in between the notes that play.
I like the strings section fine when Musescore actually lets me use them, but it keeps glitching out and not letting me use them
The sound in general is all mixed up and inconsistent. Even when dynamics are not present, certain sections are still louder than others. Overall, the sounds are messy and disorganized. However, I really like how the vibrato sounds and is very expressive in that regard, but aside from that, I would prefer to use MS Basic due to how messy it is. Additionally, the viola sounds kind of "slidy" overall in my experience when utilizing playback, in which it makes it sound detuned. That slightly makes it harder to work with so if things can be fixed, other users and I would appreciate it, thanks!
The sound quality is good for legato, and the only way to make faster runs work is with accented or staccato notes. However, the viola just literally makes almost no noise during staccato notes. The only way to make it audible is to have a hidden dynamic thats like 3 levels above what it normally is. You can't just adjust the volume slider, as that makes it absurdly loud everywhere else.
I’ve been using this soundfont since 2022 almost the first day the Musescore 4 launched, but I just realized that it doesn’t contain with a contrabass solo. Please add it in the future, thank you
The group strings didn’t sound good, but I needed a string quartet sound anyway, so the solo instruments worked well for me. The solo instruments are overall a massive improvement, just but a bit too slidey. Also, sounds don’t play loud enough for certain instruments at certain registers. Something also seems to be happening were double-stopped sounds don’t play as loudly as they should
Here is a fix for the solo violin playing glissando or portamento between all notes. Choose standard phrasing and non-legato. Then switch to classic phrasing, the non-legato option will remain. This works for most slurred notes and all non-slurred notes
this thing is so funny it puts slides from open string notes to fingered notes and it's like bruh the only way that would happen is if you're (a) very sloppy or (b) playing everything on 1 string which no one would do that there are 4 strings come on. slides also occur between fingered notes on the same string, like between notes for first and third finger. the only way a slide would be there is if you are only using 1 finger. you have 4 fingers. I have worked around this by adding a very short rest, which gets rid of the slide. A short enough rest is unnoticeable. The sliding should be reworked to take into account that violin, viola, and cello (and bass, but i haven't used that sound) have 4 strings, and the player typically has 4 fingers.
If you try to play a fast run on the strings the tone quality plummets. The strings also sound out of tune. Even though I hate the timbre of the MS Basic strings they do not struggle with this problem at all.
Solo string versions slide around so much it barely sounds like the realy notes and ends up being dissonant with the rest of the parts. Sections are so blurry and airy. I honestly thing this needs an insane amount of refining and redoing.
