MuseScore Studio Reviews
I have since used Noteflight during like somewhere in 2023 during in Elementary School. Although, Noteflight isn’t that bad, they just gave you like a limited amount of instruments once you sign in. However, Musescore Studio gave me a full instruments once i started first using it so that’s why this is much better than Noteflight. I don’t wanna like spend it on Premium since this was like School’s Property like I JUST DON’T WANNA SPEND IT DURING SCHOOL.
great free notation software and easy to use, plus with free sounds that are decently high quality - much better than other free notation softwares that I've used in the past. a few bones to pick: grace notes and appoggiatura are either played smushed into the parent note or not played at all, accel/rit/etc. have fixed end tempos that can't be manually changed, unpitched percussion can't change instruments and staff to a pitched percussion, dynamics sometimes (especially noticeable with loud to quiet dynamics) don't register on the first playback tick (also problematic for string pizz) resulting in a random hit sometimes, and instrument volume within the mixer can't be changed mid-piece for solos without changing instruments
Peak. Does everything I would ever need and more. 10/10.
Dear developpers of the Musescore. Despite the application itself and most of all ALL music libraries in Musehub are unsuitable for professional work, - I’ve decided to make scores here because the sound you eventually obtain is incomparably better than Sibelius+Noteperformer, Dorico and obviously Finale. I’ve just made a big score for orchestra, it’s a symphonic suite, 108 pages, big orchestra. I have one score for listening and another score written as it should be, but it obviously doesn’t sound correctly. I eventually make a video from a proper score and combine it with a sound from a score for listening. I’m proposing that I send you two scores, so that you can compare them and see very deep problems with libraries.
I've been using the free muse sound plug ins but all my instruments were turned back to ms basic in all of my scores, i've been uninstalling and installing over and over and it just wont work, it's like it's gone from the musescore app
Partner Response: Hi there, please make sure MuseHub is fully updated, then uninstall and reinstall any affected MuseSounds libraries through MuseHub. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, please submit a support ticket with more details here: https://support.musehub.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new
I was using version 4.6.5 For a while and using the music core sounds great and the instruments sound like real instruments I was blown away when I first discovered it. Now I update to the 4.7 and The audio has regressed in all but the strings and In a piece I'm making that uses both Pizz and Arco and switches quite often, I can't use one it because I have to choose from the start. Please fix this soon, I love this app and I want the music to sound as it should. Don't make it regress between updates, it sould grow.

All of my musesounds are just gone... no reason, just gone. can't even re install anything, no musesounds even appear when looking them up. I'm on the recent update and the sounds just randomly disappeared between this morning at 10 am and right now (1 pm).

It deletes the sounds on its own and they can no longer be installed. You should really focus on making the app work properly before worrying about updates or various soundfonts!

Tired of apps that don't make sense? Musescore is the perfect option that has simple UI, but can do amazing things. Highly recommended for all composers, arrangers, and even just genuine musicians. Musescore also has a billion useful plugins. I've really enjoyed my experience with Musescore, so I rate it 10/10.
yippee
best shit ever
I like it
endless loading
I love this app. I’ve written some amazing music with it but this recent update makes it crash within 2 mins of using it. I cannot even work on music anymore. I hope another patch comes soon because I’d hate to have to go back to Dorico or Sibelius
Partner Response: Hi there, apologies for the inconvenience! We've just released version 4.7.2 with a fix. Please update to the latest version to resolve this. Thanks!
IMPORTANT ISSUE: Smart App Control randomly decided to block MuseScore for me even though it was working fine just ten minutes ago! I don't know why this is happening but is there a way for the team to fix it? Original review: I have used MuseScore Studio 4 for almost 2 years now (as an amateur and learning composer in high school) and I love the program so much! It has so many features and the free Muse Sounds are great. It is mind-blowing that this is able to be free for users like me who don't have a lot of money for Sibelius or Dorico, or any DAWs for more producing-type stuff. This is overall an amazing program!
The sounds changed a lot and some of the synthetisers are so different
Since the new updated I can't open it for more than a few seconds
Partner Response: Hi there – so sorry to hear the update caused issues for you! We've actually just released version 4.7.1, which includes a fix for exactly this problem. Please update and let us know if you're still experiencing any trouble. We're happy to help! 🙏
An HTML export would be a cool feature. Such an feature like in Primus ;)
I Love It
The interface is pretty intuitive, and makes a lot of sense to me as someone who interacts with sheet music primarily. The sounds aren't fantastic, but they're honestly not horrible, and the ability to get sounds from other sources as well is convenient. I use this program for a lot of things, and highly recommend it.
This is a problem I've noticed ever since MS4 had launched. I've been using MS3 since its late development and MS4 since launch. The dynamic change in MS4 whithin tremolos doesn't work for MuseSounds. Which is very davastating when trying to build up momento and dynamics within one piece. This hadn't been a problem within MS3. And I presume that has something to do with how the Playback calculates sound output. Overall disappointing. This translates over into any Instrument of the free MuseSoundLibrary, the pack Ambience and VOXOS Choir.
Best notation software out there, and IT. IS. FREE. If only the publishing website for scores (musescore.com) wasn't money-hungry.
